"Critical Thinking: What It Is and Why Students’ Success Depends On It" will be the keynote session at the opening, June 8th, of the 2016 National Institute on the Assessment of Adult Learning in Philadelphia. The presentation by Dr. Carol Ann Gittens, will focus on teaching for thinking, with specific attention on the learning through inquiry process.

Dr. Gittens is interim dean for the Graduate School of Education and Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University (SCU). She is the developer of multiple Insight Assessment tools calibrated for measuring the critical thinking skills, numeracy and academic motivation of K-12 students.  She is also the co-author of THINK Critically , Facione & Gittens.

The 2016 National Institute will focus on Perspectives on PLA: Strategies for Student and Institutional Success.
