Product Schedules supplement the Insight Assessment Master Services Agreement (“MSA”) and apply only to the specific products or services identified therein. Each applicable Product Schedule is incorporated into and forms part of the MSA upon a Client’s purchase or use of the applicable Service.
Schedule A – Focus Secure Browser Services
Effective Date: July 1, 2026
This Schedule A – Focus Secure Browser Services (“Schedule”) is incorporated into and forms part of the Insight Assessment Master Services Agreement (“MSA”) and applies only to Clients that purchase or use Focus Secure Browser Services (“Focus”). In the event of any conflict between this Schedule and the MSA, this Schedule shall control solely with respect to the Focus Services.
1. Description of the Services
Focus is Insight Assessment’s secure browser software designed to facilitate the secure administration of online Assessments by providing a controlled testing environment on supported devices.
Focus launches authorized Assessments in a dedicated application designed to limit access to unauthorized resources during an active Assessment session. Focus is intended to enhance assessment integrity by applying configurable technical controls before and during an Assessment.
Focus may be updated, modified, enhanced, or supplemented by Insight Assessment from time to time in accordance with the MSA.
2. License
Subject to the MSA and payment of applicable fees, Insight Assessment grants Client a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license during the Subscription Term to permit Authorized Users and Test-Takers to install and use Focus solely for Client’s authorized internal educational, certification, training, research, or organizational assessment purposes.
The license granted under this Schedule does not transfer ownership of Focus or any associated intellectual property.
3. Supported Platforms
Focus is supported only on operating systems and devices designated by Insight Assessment in the applicable Documentation or published system requirements.
Client is responsible for ensuring that Test-Takers use supported operating systems, maintain internet connectivity, and satisfy applicable hardware and software requirements before beginning an Assessment.
Insight Assessment may revise supported platforms as operating systems evolve or reach end-of-life.
4. Assessment Configuration
Client determines:
- which Assessments require Focus;
- applicable assessment security settings;
- exceptions for individual Test-Takers where appropriate;
- accommodation settings;
- assessment policies; and
- institutional procedures governing Assessment administration.
Focus enforces only those security controls configured or enabled for the applicable Assessment.
5. Secure Testing Environment
During an active Assessment session, Focus may perform functions including, but not limited to:
- launching the Assessment in a dedicated full-screen environment;
- restricting browser navigation outside authorized Assessment content;
- disabling or restricting browser features, including printing, developer tools, downloads, context menus, and similar functionality;
- suppressing designated operating system shortcuts and task-switching functions;
- restricting clipboard and screenshot functionality;
- performing pre-launch device and environment validation;
- monitoring specified security conditions throughout the Assessment session;
- responding to configured security events according to Client-selected policies; and
- continuously saving Assessment responses to facilitate recovery following unexpected interruption.
Available functionality may vary based on operating system, device capabilities, Customer configuration, software version, licensing, and future product enhancements.
6. Customer Responsibilities
Client is responsible for:
- informing Test-Takers that Focus is required for designated Assessments;
- ensuring Test-Takers satisfy published system requirements;
- obtaining any notices, acknowledgments, permissions, or consents required by applicable law or institutional policy;
- determining appropriate accessibility accommodations;
- configuring Assessment security settings;
- maintaining the confidentiality of administrative credentials; and
- ensuring lawful use of Focus.
Client acknowledges that Focus is a configurable assessment security tool and that Client remains solely responsible for establishing and enforcing its academic integrity policies.
7. Technical Information and Data Collection
Focus may collect and transmit technical and operational information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, troubleshoot, administer, and improve the Services.
Such information may include:
- operating system information;
- application version;
- device configuration;
- session identifiers;
- security event logs;
- diagnostic information;
- Assessment session metadata; and
- other technical information related to operation of Focus.
The collection, use, retention, and protection of such information are governed by the MSA and Insight Assessment’s Privacy Policy.
Focus does not intentionally collect information unrelated to operation of the Services.
8. Updates and Maintenance
Insight Assessment may provide updates, maintenance releases, bug fixes, security patches, compatibility updates, and feature enhancements for Focus.
Unless expressly identified as a separate product or service, such updates shall be deemed part of Focus and governed by the MSA and this Schedule.
9. Product Limitations
Focus is designed to assist Clients in administering secure online Assessments through configurable technical controls.
Client acknowledges that:
- no assessment security solution can prevent every form of misconduct or unauthorized assistance;
- Focus does not guarantee detection or prevention of all academic integrity violations;
- hardware failures, operating system limitations, third-party software, internet disruptions, or unsupported device configurations may affect operation of Focus; and
- Client remains solely responsible for determining Assessment validity, reviewing Assessment results, investigating suspected misconduct, and making all academic, certification, employment, licensing, disciplinary, or other decisions.
Nothing in this Schedule shall be construed as a guarantee that an Assessment session is free from unauthorized conduct.
10. Support
Insight Assessment will make commercially reasonable efforts to provide technical support for Focus in accordance with its then-current support policies.
Support resources, Documentation, knowledge base articles, and system requirements may be updated from time to time and published through Insight Assessment’s website or customer support portal.
11. Definitions
For purposes of this Schedule:
Focus means the Insight Assessment secure browser software, including associated desktop applications, updates, Documentation, and related services.
Authorized User means an individual authorized by Client to administer or access Focus.
Documentation means user guides, technical documentation, published system requirements, and other materials made available by Insight Assessment relating to Focus.
